Custom Foot Orthotics

A custom orthotic is a device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. Custom orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes – they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment. The plastic body of the custom orthotic helps to re-align the foot by redirecting and reducing certain motion that takes place during the gait cycle. Custom orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as an insole – and they have the advantage of having been made from precise imprints of your feet.

No. Insurance providers are not set up to offer direct billing for custom orthotic orders.  You are required to provide payment at the time of ordering.  We will provide the necessary documentation for you to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company.  Specifically, we will provide you with a biomechanical assessment form, a physiotherapists referral form, a payment receipt, and any other documentation required by your provider.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to receive reimbursement?

Each insurance provider will have their own set of protocols for reimbursement of custom orthotic orders.  We are not privy to this information.  Please contact your provider to verify reimbursement details.

Who fabricates the custom orthotics?

What is your refund policy on custom orthotic orders?

All sales are final and non-refundable.  Sizing exchanges for footwear are subject to a $30 handling fee.

How much is my coverage for custom orthotics?

We are not privy to this information and suggest that you contact your insurance provider to verify all details related to reimbursement.

Who provides your custom orthotic services?

Our physiotherapist will perform an assessment to determine all pertinent information related to your custom orthotic order.   The type of orthotic will be determined by your condition, your weight, your footwear, and your activity.

Why did my insurance company deny reimbursement for my custom orthotic order?

There may be numerous reasons why you were denied compensation.  It is important to note that some insurance providers will not issue reimbursement of custom orthotic orders if initiated by a physiotherapist.  For these providers, you will be denied reimbursement.  It is your responsibility to know if your insurance company falls in this category.
